The last time I came to Sweden I spent over a week fighting jet lag. For this trip I worked very hard to leave that concept behind. I did a few practical things that helped. The most effective was and has been setting my watch ahead as soon as I got onto the plain. Also my flight from Boston was at 20:40 so I stopped drinking Coffee at noon. Having gotten up very early in the morning I was already asleep when the plane took off. I should also mention that I took my pillow from home. That was key. Goose down squishes as small as a travel pillow and fit into my laptop backpack. I am happy to have it now as well. It gives me continuity. However The most important thing has been the refusal to translate the time change from the US to Europe. the constant tendency to remind myself that " THE TIME IS REALLY " whatever time it is in Maine, was never left uncorrected. It has worked. I went to sleep in Sweden at 20:00 and woke up 12 hours later. I have been in the present the entire time. This is my second full day in Sweden. I feel great. It's a good thing too because tomorrow I fly to Paris for the first time and I am confident that I will be able to enjoy every minute of the four days that I am there, and stay in the present moment. Then back to Sweden for Christmas. That's all for now, Candace
